I followed the work of Arturo Vittori and Andreas Vogler with high interest. Their expertise and ingenuity as designers and architects in bringing technology and aesthetics together with human needs, allows them working in a range of projects some of which are rarely seen before- or interpreted under totally a new perspective. They are explorers, engineers, scientists, as much as they are artists and designers.
With their research-based and inventive design proposals, they go clearly beyond the common label of 'sustainability'. They question the flow of resources and how design can be integrated into it, to assist nature and at the same time provide enjoyable places for people. A humanistic sensibility and culture is paired with the skill of stepping out of our existing belief systems, to look at a new understanding of our designed environment, as many of their projects demonstrate.
